A sequel to Wes Anderson’s 2001 comedy masterpiece ‘Bless’ is a real possibility.
A source at the Motion Picture Association of America told The Hollywood Reporter that the studio is “open to the idea of making a sequel to ‘Blress.'”
The source said the studio has been talking with Anderson’s team about possibly doing the sequel since ‘Blesses’ was released.
A sequel to Anderson’s classic comedy ‘Blessed’ was filmed last year and will likely be a franchise staple.
The studio was reportedly interested in developing the sequel, but didn’t go anywhere because they felt that Anderson’s original movie was “quite good.”
According to The Hollywood, the sequel will take place during the 1960s.
The movie is said to explore the early days of social media and the emergence of social networks in America.
The source noted that “Blesses” was “a hit” with audiences and the movie made more than $100 million worldwide.
Anderson made his name in films like ‘Pulp Fiction,’ ‘Porky’s’ and ‘Blues Brothers.’
He’s also starred in ‘Parks and Recreation,’ ‘The Social Network,’ ‘Mr. Smith Goes to Washington’ and more.
The ‘Blends’ sequel is set to be released on March 12.
